Here is a situation that I come across quite often and think I may be playing wrong. After raising with AQ, the flop comes Kxx and somebody bets into me.

What is your flop move if villain is:

1. A calling station
2. LAG
3. TAG

An example of what I am talking about:

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q, A.
1 fold, Hero raises, 6 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (4.33 SB) 5, 7, K (2 players)
BB bets, Hero... .

Auto-raising the flop here in all situations and take your freecard. Your Q here is usually good if it were to hit but if you don't get your free card i would fold the turn.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

No, it means "I have a pair" and that beats you. Not much of a pot, you can sometimes just lay it down.

I am piggybacking with Fnord on this one.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

How would those responses change if it wasn't headsup? In this example, it's just us and the BB.

How about 3 players?

5 players?

What if we are in later position and there's a bet and a call ahead of us? Do we then go into pot odds mode and calculate for overcard/runners and the backdoor gutshot/flush draws?

A bet, a call and a raise?

If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

Questions:
For the Lag, are you calling b/c you want him to keep bluffing? Or because you don't want to end up calling a flop 3-bet with just Ace high? What is your plan if a diamond comes off (obviously ur not folding, so raise/call?) What if a non-diamond A/Q comes off?
For the Tag, why are you raising? Get a free card? Fold a 7? Sorry if this is elementary; I'm still trying to understand some of the thinking behind these raises.

Lag...Because you likely have the best hand and he'll donk off a turn bluff too. If you imrove you can make him pay an extra river bet.

Tag...Because you may not have the best hand but gain fold equity when he lays down TPWK or a mid pair. You also gain the ability to take a freecard and if your A hits the turn then it doesnt scream pair of aces when you value bet.

PK
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.
