Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A, K.
UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 4 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (5.50 SB) A, 2, 8 (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) J (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

River: (8.75 BB) T (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 10.75 BB

Hero shows [ Ad, Kc ] a pair of aces.
raymack2a shows [ 2d, Ah ] two pairs, aces and twos.
raymack2a wins $41 from the main pot with two pairs, aces and twos.


No real questions here, just wondered if I should keep playing these situations like this.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

Oh, he was a terrible player? In that case DON'T VALUE bet against him. No wait, that's wrong. You STILL played it fine.

You are correct, sir.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

I certainly continue to bet in a situation like this. Even when you are beaten you are getting the best of it in a way because you are loosing for less. Some of these people are so meek that even when you do lose you only lose like 1/3 of what would have been lost had the tables been turned. i.e. had I of had his hand I probably would have been raising it knowing the other guy probably had something like AK AQ AJ...the turn may have scared him but still he is weak.

When you get beat by guys like this you know that ultimately that is more money in your pockets so consider it a win in the great scheme of things.
