Default Did I play this wrong?

I played this hand today, and think I got it just about right. The game was really loose, and Sklansky suggests calling with 98s in that case even in early position. Anyway, here is the history. I did everything to drive out the other drawers, but I couldn't and the other guy caught a queen on the river. Note that on the turn, I have a flush draw, a straight draw and top pair:

pretty sure on a draw heavy board like that Sklansky also says not to bet the flop with a ragged Top pair. Wait and see if the turn is a dud and go from there. You play 89s for flush and straight value and at this level anyone with an over is coming along.

on the turn you still have TP and an OESD so I like the raise.

He's got top pair and backdoor straight and flush possibilities on the flop...I say he might as well bet at it(just have to be careful about how you play the turn/river, which he did a good job of).
