i know it will not be as beatable as 2/4, but i don't know whether i should move up and take my lumps or keep plugging leaks at 2/4. how much tougher are the games? should i not worry about it since i have the br for 3/6?

yea this post is written rather incoherently, but any thoughts on moving from 2/4 to 3/6 are appreciated.

Give it a shot. Just keep in mind that you might need to approach the game in a slightly different way than you are accustomed to at 2/4 since the mix of players will be different (more multitable rocks, e.g.).

On that note, I will add that I totally disagree with the philosophy that you should replace one of your 2/4 tables with a 3/6 and gradually transition until all your tables are 3/6 (assuming you multitable).

Just play one 3/6 table, pay attention to what you're doing, and add more 3/6 tables as you get comfortable.

the only stat i have for my 2/4 game is that it has moved my br from 1200 to 1800.

maybe i should just play 5k hands and load them all in pokertracker, then post and see what you guys think. but is that necessary?

3/6 is just different.

Fewer donks, more weak/tighties and table/seat selection becomes more important.

I think playing many hands at 2/4 and using PT is a goot idea at any stake...

I couldn't imagine playing Party 3/6 or tougher games without PokerTracker and PlayerView.

Players are tighter and more aggressive and table selection become more important. But overall there isn't a huge difference.

Take a shot at 3/6, if it doesn't work move back down until you feel ready to try again.

Don't overthink it just do it. Go, go, go, go, go!

Edit: Oh yeah try not to think of it as 'moving up', if you think of it as a shot it 'll be easier to drop back down if things go bad. And if you don't have PokerTracker yet then go buy buy buy.

do you think it would be more profitable for me to maybe add a 5th table of 2/4 instead of moving to 3/6?

its all about profitability!

It's impossible to say without any stats.

It's also tough to say with stats. you need a zillon hands to tell if you're winning anyway. you *should* get pokertracker. it's cool.

you're rolled for it, play a few thousand hands. see if you like it. but really, if you don't have any idea how much you win per 100 hands (or whatever) how will you tell if you're making more money or not?

I don't think you can, so play what you like.
