In my ongoing war to play the microlimits at Titan (which I believe match up perfectly with the 2/4 B&M game I play) I have been learning much about LHE. I was dealt AKo 2 straight hands and I need criticisms on each. This was a full ring loose passive game.

Hand 1:
Hero is CO with AcKs
UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, BU folds, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls

Flop: 10c4d10h
BB bets, UTG calls, Hero folds

--it wasn't the BB bet that scared me off, I thought he had a 4, it was UTG's call, I thought it was either a middle pair or a slow play.

Hand 2:
Hero is HJ with AcKs
1 fold, UTG+1 raises, 1 fold, hero raises, Co folds, BU folds, SB folds, BB calls

Flop: 10s9hQs
BB checks, UTG+1 bets, hero calls, BB calls

Turn: 2h
BB checks, UTG+1 bets, hero calls, BB raises, UTG+1 3 bets, hero folds, BB caps, UTG+1 calls

River: Jc
Hero curses at the screen wondering if he made a good lay down on the turn.

OK, I am totally lost playing AK after the flop, I keep jamming preflop but with lack of success. I had AK0 3 hands out of about 120 in this session, lost all three, the two above and the third to a river three outer. Am I seriously overvaluing the profitability of this hand? I know I am thinking way too short term but every time I raise and reraise preflop with AK in these games I brick the flop a massive amount of the time.

Thanks for the advice, you're all champs in my book

#1, Would a raise from you on the flop give you a free card? I mean are your opponents the type of player that checks to you on the turn if you raise?

#2, Easy fold on the turn. I'd be very surprised if you won with anything but a jack.

Hand No.1 I like the free card idea! I would have called to see the turn.
In many of those games players just bet such a flop with nothing.

Hand No.2 I wouldnt have called the first bet on the turn. The checkraise from the BB shows that he has a set or a straight. I think the BB has KJs.
So your lay down was good.

Microlimits are tough! Very tough. People are not scared off with a raise, they call with almost everything, but keep working at your game.

But dont try too hard, it is just a game.

I think I raise the flop on hand 2 as well, going for free cards.
