This table was full of people willing to call me down but I'd never been raised this much before so I got out on the flop while it was cheap. Good idea?

I'm not an expert, but overall I'm not sure you made any big mistakes.
On that last hand, I've had experiences such as that where players with relatively small stacks (that guys was sitting with 9 big bets, three handed,) simply pick a hand and run with it, balls to the wall. I wouldn't be too surprised if he was on a club draw or had a smaller pocket pair like TT or JJ. But it's hard to tell what his play had been like and if his last few pots went in his favor (not likely.)
One last thing- if he were an experienced player and thought your preflop raise was a steal (quite likely three handed,) he may discredit top pair all together and assume that a middle PP or second pair/decent kicker was good.

i only had time to read hand 1. nice flop but i wouldn't be raising medium suited connectors in MP unless i personally stacked the deck.
