Hand 1: Snore
Hand 2: Interesting flop cap, boarder-line spewage...
Hand 3: Suck it up and fold the river if he's at all sane.
Hand 4: That sucks, bet/call the river anyway.
Hand 5: K high on the river is always interesting. Others share your view that you need to bet here.
Hand 6: I don't like this river bet, but there are some good arguments for it.

But I'm still interested. I'm currently at 5/10 and I want to improve short handed before I move up again, so I appreciate just getting a peek at what you're doing, even if I don't really have anything to add.

OK so I do have something to add. On hand 5 you bet the river with K high, and on hand 6 you bet the river with A high when you could take a free showdown. Do you do these things routinely, or did you post them because that's not what you normally do?

K high was to fold them.
the A kicker was for value, as i put them on a lower pair calling down (or missed flush/straight draw).
i don't do either routinely. it depends on how i feel about the situation and the opponent. i'd say i do both 50% of the time.

Your biggest problem here is that you're playing cards too much and players too little. Next time include reads.

Hand 1: yep.
Hand 2: the flop cap isn't horrible with a double gutshot, but since you have little chance to win without the straight, I probably just call along.
Hand 3: sure. I probably just bet the river though. Your line is better for a lot of reasons, but I generally play almost all hands the same once its 4 handed. (whether I have it or not)
Hand 4: I think you can raise preflop for value. The river check call is good. You are splitting with any ace, and there are quite a few hands that beat you. You have showdown value, and don't want to get raised. You also induce a bluff from worse hands.
Hand 5: A lot like hand 3, which is why I play both the same. Unfortunately, this one you are behind any pair and any ace, so a check call on the river is much worse. Well played.
Hand 6: Standard, I think.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

You just rivered a pair of 5s (or any pp <8) I like the bet.

I think hand 2 should be called on the flop. No need to cap, but you're obviously calling if they cap anyway... but they're not folding either
Hand 4 you have to bet at the river, sure you got counterfeitted, but I think you have to bet in case he has just a pair of tens or something. He has to have AJ or better to beat you, you'll probably split...
Of course it depends on how good your opponent is
in micro limits ten-handed betting is EV+
don't know about short-handed and your limits though
hand 5 don't bet the river, you don't even have ace high, one could make a case for folding if bet into
hand 6 check/call the river to see if anyone with a worse hand takes a stab with nothing
especially the fives could bet here mad about being counterfeitted
Most people wouldn't call if they had pair of fives and no kicker for the higher two pair or a pp smaller than 8... I mean at that point you're hoping that the player misread his hand

generally i prefer to cap when i sense that it will be capped anyway. this gives me the opportunity to mess them up when i check through the turn (of course if i get check raised it didn't sound like such a great plan anymore).

a popular recurring situation is shorthanded poker is always on the river with 2 overcards. you've been betting all the way. do you bet, check/call, or check/fold? do you bet/fold, call, or fold? at this point usually the pot is 5BB or 6BB...and you just have to fold them 15-20% of the time to be profitable. likewise, they just have to fold you 15-20% of the time to be profitable.

anyone who's called this long is checking it through for a free showdown. they aren't betting with a lower pair because anyone with an A or K (me) will call.

but any counterfeitted pp is playing the board. you cant seriously expect a call from a hand that bad, right?

I dont understand the flop cap on the second hand.
Please share your logic/muscle memory.
EDIT Never you mind, I just gleaned it from another post.

people shouldn't underestimate the value bets you can get from the curiosity of other players.
hand 5 with K high i took it down. hand 6 with A kicker, i took it down too. i lost all the other hands. hand 4, UTG had AQ...that's right, he didn't raise.
paradise has a lot of passive play goin around, and a lot are willing to call you down too.
