villain was tight/aggressive/passive over a very small sample. so, the "read" probably doesnt hold much water. however, given NO READS, is this a decent line to get it HU and call down with SD value?

3-bet preflop. 88 is good enough for a preflop raise here.

The way you played it the flop c/r is solid. But once you c/r the flop, why did you check the turn? Value bet down and fold to a raise. By checking you're only letting him check behind with weaker hands and bet better ones. I don't see what is so scary about that 9.
