PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is BB with 4 , 3 .
UTG calls, MP calls, 2 folds, SB raises, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP calls.
Flop: (8 SB) 4 , 2 , 5 (4 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, UTG raises, MP folds, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, SB calls.
Turn: (8.50 BB) A (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls.
River: (11.50 BB) 8 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, SB calls.
Final Pot: 14.50 BB
I count 10 non-spade outs, giving me 38% equity. 38% > 33% so correct play?

The 3s are more tainted than the spades, but you still probably have just enough to 3-bet. I think this is a fold prefop.

I think 7-1 is enough to play this preflop.
I didnt think about the 3s, you are right, I shouldnt have counted them as outs.

Harry if you put someone on a flush draw, and it connects 35% of the time, did you factor that into your equity? By this I mean how many times do you improve on the turn only to lose the river. If you put someone on a spade draw then I believe it is a very thin value raise here. Maybe I am looking at the long run, I know you didnt factor in the spades as outs, but that is just on fourth street. Myself, I do not like 3betting here with a flush draw on board, just my preference. I think it is quite a good and debatable topic tho.

Looks fine, I think the equity difference between a 3 bet and call are small enough that either could work for varying your play.
