I think I got the math right, but just to be clear, is 0.01/0.02 NL the same as 0.05/0.1 LHE?
I arrived at this by calculating the bankroll you'd need for each, 30 buy ins for NLHE (2NL * 30 = $60), 300 Big Bets for LHE ($60 / 300 / 2 = 0.2). As you can see I calculated my bankroll for no limit and then converted that to the appropriate stakes at limit.
Is this the correct way to 'convert' stakes between the two game types? Or at least a reasonable way to do it?

Apples and oranges mostly, but I think 5x the stakes (like you proposed) is fairly close.
LHE is higher variance due to having to play more marginal hands/draws due to pot odds. Thus, the bankroll requirements are probably a bit higher compared to an analogous level of competition in NL ring games.
I think a better ratio for buyins to BBs would be 30:500. Old "Standard" thinking was something like 20-25 buyins for NL, 300BB for LHE. I think 500BB is more realistic for LHE, as is 30 buyins for NL
From what I have seen, the amount of utter retards really starts to drop off at 50NL, but in LHE I'd say 2/4 is where the same trend starts. So this might support my ideas.

imo, absolutely not!
the variance is different. in NL, you are talking about buy-ins because you can really get fleeced in stacks when things go wrong. you just get punished for mistakes in huge ways....some of which you really cant/shouldnt try to avoid. (AA v KK comes to mind)
but, variance, in LHE, lasts longer. let's say you think you are a winner at 4 BB/100 in a NL game. your variance will go on 10+ BI up and downswings quite often...maybe in only a couple of sessions (been there). if you are a 4/100 in LHE, you may go on a 2 BB/100 heater that plays out the same, monetarily, as NL, but just takes weeks to realize. you go on month long heaters and coolers in LHE, they just dont manifest themselves in such obvious ways as NL heaters and coolers do.
anyway. to convert, you would keep the blinds the same for both levels. 25c/50c limit games post a big blind of 25c. so, its the equivalent, blind-wise, to 25NL. basically, look at the smaller number of a limit game and that corresponds to the 100 bb stack of a NL game. thats the easy way to look at it.
as for "skill level" equivalents, there really isnt any, imo. where do the fish largely disappear? that depends on whether you are the fish or the shark, imo.
dont be so concerned with conversions. the games are different. just take the bankroll you are confident in using and divide, like you did, by 300....500 is likely better i agree....and play the big blind that corresponds best.
$100/500 = 20c = 10c/20c limit games. even if you used 300 bb's here, $100/300 = 33c = 10c/20c games. you dont have enough to play 25c/50c yet and there is no 15c/30c game in existence that i have seen.

LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.
Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

True, although on some sites that have games in different currencies, you can get close to that. Paradise poker (whatever their network is called) has games in Euros, GBP and TRY (not even sure what this last one is). .10/.20 Euro would be approximately .15/.30 in USD.
