here is a hand is beyond botched...

villains were stations that dont fold squat. sure, i should raise AQ pre, but into this many players? when off suit, it doesnt play nearly as well on a loose/passive table. what little edge it may have pre is devastated by bloating a pot where players take hands too far.

but, lead flop? i cant deny odds. i likely have the better hand, but i subject myself to the schooling effect here. and, they would be correct to call with just about anything but the worst combos for this flop.

so, i decide to wait for the turn. i prolly should have 3bet, once the raise hit and hoped for the best. the call was brutal. i didnt do the math, but i doubt waiting for the turn to c/r would do much good in this pot now, mathematically.

and, of course, i feel pinned to the redraw. even the river fold is ick.

but, how do you avoid these situations on such tables. this can be a common situation on these types of tables, and i rarely seem to know what to do. screw correcting/bashing my play here.

how would YOU play it? that may help more...

preflop I dont hate a check out of position against these guys, but even though unsuited high cards suck out of position, it will make the pot big enough to peel on the flop if we miss.

On the flop I 3bet it for sure to make these guys pay out the nose to draw out in this already fairly large pot

turn- as played on the flop I would donk bet it, calling a raise. Having checked, a raise is viable, but it depends how passive the CO is. The button is ahead of us here pretty rarely I think.

River- as played I overcall here, I am not convinced that they both have us beat.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

you dont feel that CO is a cinch for the flush? BTN raises flop and CO leads his gin card?

3bet the flop! You want to fold out crappy middle pair hands if at all possible.

Keep going till you're raised. Then re-evaluate.

Overcalling this river is just donating chips imo.

I know when I'm playing Limit at the $3/6 level. I tend to cap with Top Pair Top Kicker unless the board is crazy co-ordinated.

After that, I don't like it if more than one bet goes into the pot on each street unless I improve.

Overcalling river.. yeah, don't like it with top pair, let alone a couple of ladies.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Raise Preflop. VALUE VALUE VALUE. You have great equity against 5 limpers. Will you win 100% of the time against them? No, but you have great equity against limpers. You're missing a ton of value.

Flop: EASY 3-bet. You have a chance to face 2 players with 3 bets cold and give yourself great hand protection. It is also for value since you probably have the best hand here a huge % of the time.

Turn and River are fine the way you played it.
