live $3/$6

Hero dealt 3h 2h in BB
UTG, MP, MP+1, BN calls, Hero (BB) checks

Flop: [Jh 8c 4h]
Hero checks, UTG bets, 2 folds, BN calls, Hero calls

Turn: [Jh 8c 4h] [7h]
Hero checks, UTG bets, BN raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG folds, BN calls

River: [Jh 8c 4h] [7h] [Kd]
Hero bets, BN calls

Question: better to call the turn raise to try to induce more action, then check-raise donk button player on river? Or good to find out where my puny flush stands and make higher single hearts pay to draw?
--------------
Hero dealt 8c 6c in BB
UTG, UTG+1, MP+1, CO, BN call, Hero checks

Flop: [Kd 8s 3h]
Checked around

Turn: [Kd 8s 3h] [5c]
Checked to MP+1, MP+1 bets, BN calls, Hero calls, rest fold

River: [Kd 8s 3h] [5c] [5s]
Hero bets, MP+1 raises, BN, Hero fold

Question: I was considering check-raising the turn when I thought I was ahead -- do you prefer this, the call, or a fold here? I had MP+1 on a random bet into an unclaimed pot, maybe a 5, maybe an 8, and BN as a loose passive willing to call down with almost anything. Then not sure about the river -- I figured I could rep the 5 until I was told I was beaten, and didn't want it checked behind if I had the best hand.

Well, these are more postflop play questions than BB questions but whatever...

Hand 1: You've got to bet your draws. And, in doing so, you may be able to bet/3bet. No way am I letting UTG in for heap with what may possibly be a higher heart than you to draw out. So, you're raise is fine, by calling or raising you get the same money in the pot, you just want UTG to fold.

Hand 2: Again, I bet this flop but if you don't, then at least bet /fold the turn when checked around. Your river fold wasn't too bad.

Finally, you've got to play higher than 3/6 live btw to beat the rake.

both played fine. Hand one, the c/3bet is pure profit, I highly doubt you would make more by c/c c/r'ng the river.

Hand 2, lead out the turn, missing bets if you don't. The river bet/fold is fine.

In hand 2, why would you bet the flop? From EP there are 4 people yet to act and you're winning only ~20% of the time against any two hands.

Well, if you're going to check/call this hand (which you should as you have odds to call) then you might as well bet because at least then you have folding equity. I mean, if its still 4 way on the turn you can let it go but you have the best hand until someone tells you otherwise.

OK, I hadn't even considered opening with five behind me on the second hand, although in this case it probably would've taken down the pot. You say if it's still 4-way at the turn you can let it go. Let's say one or two guys call the flop bet. Say one or two of them call another turn bet? What would you need to keep putting money into the pot? At this level, I'm seeing lots of top pair/no kicker call this down.

Jeff, on the first hand you'd lead out the flop and call one raise?

yeah i like a lead out on hand 2 as well. I generally lead with second pair if im in position and there was no pre flop raise.
