How does having such a player in the blinds with you affect your blind defense strategy? Some examples of what I mean:
1) Villain is in BB. Button open raises (he's got 2 cards). You are in the SB with something like A8/77. I would normally 3-bet this, but what if the BB is someone who simply refuses to fold pre-flop?
2) Villain is in the SB. Button open raises (again any 2). SB cold calls. Should I now muck hands like a weak ace/small pair? What are you calling with?

1) 3 bet for value. If BB will cold call you when you open raise also, find another table.
2) you are getting 5 to 1 on a call. You should be calling a wide range, and 3 betting most hands that you would open raise with.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Well you really can't cold call if you are in the blinds but I know what you mean...
I can't stand the bb that will call 2 bets after you 3bet with almost any two, find a new seat is my best advice, if you have an idiot on your left and a stealer on your right re-evaluate the table profitability...
