Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

Turn is interesting. It's a pretty scary card for the CO too. A read would really help. At these stakes I would just raise the turn because the CO will call all the way with Ax (or worse) too often anyway and I don't want to miss any action from UTG if he wants to cap it with 2 pair.
At higher stakes, you have a stronger case for smooth calling the turn.

What about the river? Was it right to simply call the 3-bet?

It's really close. Without a read I'm inclined to give the CO credit for the boat and just call, but I'm a sissy on the river too often. It's something it seems like I'm working on every month.

Im confused. I thought we were going for overcalls when our hand is vulnerable? ie. we have a good hand, someone bets into us, and instead of raising to knock the player out behind us, we call and get the same 2 bets, but for the price of 1 (and w/o risking a 3bet). Anyways, I don't see the logic in simply calling the turn. You have the best hand you MIGHT get CO to laydown two pair which make a boat on the river. Just curious as to your thinking on the turn as it is not my standard line.

This guy was AGGRO. So much so that he gave us aggros a bad name. he was aggressive with any piece of the flop and usually carried it into the turn...often check/calling with mid/bottom pair on the river. My hunch was that he would bite at a multiway pot trying to get UTG to fold...Unfortunately my read proved inferior to the play of the hand. I guess he was on tilt from some prior hands that hadnt went his way...Going nuts on the river trying to get people to fold. Anyway it proves that missing bets is a bad idea.

I'd raise the turn.
River is close, I'd probably just call but I don't think there's much difference either way.
