I'm guessing Chop had some kind of middle pair like 66-88.

Against a good aggressive opponent I think you need to call down with any pair here.

I mean really what could he have that just checks preflop then c/rs the flop? Tx is possible but much less likely once the ten pairs on the turn. Any decent Ax he would probably raise preflop so that Ace on the river is not scary at all. A nine is a possibility but most guys with 9x will just check/call the river.

Basically, there are just so many overcard + gutshots, OESD, and FDs he could have that you're pretty safely ahead of his range. So just call down and let him bluff off his chips if he's on a draw.

Also, don't open limp in 6 max against decent opposition. 55 or better is enough to open-raise UTG imo.

I'm not aggressive! I'm not good! I'm a spewy donk!

J/K, i think Dog is right, except that I wont be raising so wide PF oop against limpers, so most 9x, Tx, Axo are within my range.

Still, i AM aggressive, so u can expect me to do this with A3o, 9x, Tx, Fds, OESDs, or even air, and i guess the semibluffs and bluffs do constitute the bigger slice of my range.

Chopper, how can i know the HH nr?

You can add in a couple more Ax or Axs hands to his pf checking range but i think the moral is clear.

Basically if you call the turn with a made hand you should almost always call the river unless the board gets really ugly (like if you had 88 and the river was another 9).

i appreciate the hand analysis from you two.

i will look for the hand now that i have the number. thank you for that, too. but, i can tell you ahead of time it was likely a mid pp, and i think i know what it was. however, i had just taken some beats and was seeing monsters, too. i guarantee that much.

oh, and the open limping i did four times, all on purpose. i just wanted to goof with the limp/RR with AA and smaller pairs when i figured you guys would raise from position. its not a part of my normal game. it was special for you guys alone. i felt if i popped you with 66, then with AA, i would get enough respect that i could limp some really weird shit and you guys would avoid raising it fearing the RR. and, it worked the second time i had AA. why i did it here, i dont know.

ok....its even worse than i thought. truly a tilty hand. this is embarrassing as all hell, but since we are friends, i'll be honest and show it. no need to flame this, as i know how bad it is. but, this explains why i gave you credit for cracking me. had i raised this pot straight out, like i should have, i would never be folding here.

i think this is a great case and point for why you DONT open limp anything.
