you are on the BB. two players limp and the button raises, you call as do the others. the flop hits you perfectly, but instead of betting to protect you hand, you plan to check-raise (thinking the button will bet again). so you check, but unexpectedly, the person on your left bets instead. if both of the other players call, is it worth raising, seeing as how they will probably call the extra bet? if they fold, i would think raising would be a good idea. but if they don't, the check raise seems like it wouldn't do much to eliminate them from the pot. any thoughts?
thanks

just call your good hands, and raise the turn on a safe card.
your protection failed, no point raising, wait for the turn.

Sounds perfect if you caught a very strong hand, you want to build a pot and trap players for extra bets. Check/raising to protect is for best but vulnerable hands like top pair.

yeah something like this happened to me a couple days ago. flopped a set of 6's but also two hearts in a big multipot. some guy bet it out in EP and i ended up raising from LP, which really did nothing since everyone was already in the pot. i felt this was okay since the raise added value to my made hand and I had good odds to pair the board. but the turn was that third heart and i never got my boat. basically there was no way to protect my hand in this situation. i have been thinking about it a lot and i just don't know what the right play was. just call the flop and FOLD the turn? clearly not. just call the flop and also call the turn? it was a no-win scenario... 666 is the devil's work.

In limit the best flush draw almost always is either getting the best of it or has odds to call. Accept that and call down.

even after the guy hits his flush on the turn, my set has 10 outs to improve to a boat or quads. so with a large pot, shouldn't i be raising in this situation?

ram and jam the turn, cry and call the river if you miss
