If im holding AsKh3h3s and get a flop of qd8c3c what would you recommend do. In a live 1/2 9 handed pt limit cash game a guy bet 24 and I folded. would anyone else fold raise etc etc?

yeah in general fold, if you play this hand it is to flop a set and a flush draw, not one or the other. Unless you are so shallow you can just felt bottom set, or have very predicable opps, etc.

I would usually just fold pre in a raised pot, you'd much rather have the pair off suit. Even then you want the stacks deep because you just don't hit this hand much.

It was a limp play board to 6 players. I was way behind blinds and the game was a 1/2 cash game. I folded but just figured id ask other opinions. No reads really but with 6 other players there's no telling what was out there and some donkys so theres no telln what hit.

hard to give an opinion when you still don't offer any information

I bet if I said "it's an awful fold, really really really bad" you'd post all the information we could ever want.

So, yea, this is a really bad fold, especially with the info provided.

I only had 75 in front of me to a table with over a grand on it. I was the fifth person past the dealer. 6 players limped for a 2 dollar call of the blind in a 1-2 pt limit Omaha cash game. So I limp to see a flop because I really don't like my hand. I'm holding AsKh3h3s and get a flop of qd8c3c. I have no club draw no straight draw only a set my only outs to a sure hand are pairing the board another 3 or the bottom set holding up which I was unsure of when the guy bet 24. I put him on a hand like Q8J10 with 2 clubs. But if he had J1097 2 clubs or QQ107 2 clubs, 889J 2 clubs i'm dominated here. So to a 24 dollar bet after check, check, bet, fold, it comes to me and I think push or fold----my turn I fold. Bad fold?

you have 37bbs and you flopped a set

this is why information is key, this is a pretty bad fold

Spenda, this could be your finest moment.

Shove!

you can easily be called by Qxxx, overpairs, bare FDs, wraps, etc.

But it gets better - since it sounds like everyone else is much deeper you may even get a bigger price on the shove and still be HU - for example, someone has QJT8 and the other guy has a FD. Both call your shove on the flop. Club hits, FD bets out and QJT8 folds. river Q/8 wins you the pot now.

This would be an OK fold with ~100BBs behind because you may be dead so you don't really want to jam early, but then you have to give free cards and guess for two streets. Here you only have the chance you're in against a bigger set, but them's the breaks. If you needed to flop a FD with your set you needed to have already re bought. Ask yourself how many other flops were going to look good to you.

If you're going to be playing short a lot you should check out Slotboom's book.

you got a long way to go. I wouldn't be playing 1/2 if I were you. Not only are you out of your league, you also play as if it's scared money. But not all is lost - you've clearly shown you're here to learn and you can fold bottom set... so now all u need is knowledge and the balls to not fold bottom set in the right spot.

specifically it's your inability to look past the cards that's your main problem.
