Against an unknown I'd call down after he 3-bets the turn. How far I'd go here depends on how LAggy he is.
Not sure how much difference his stack size makes here. He might throw in the last couple of raises with worse hands than he usually would but he's not stacking off with a bad hand.

He's passive and ran a funny flop line. This combination usually means he thinks he has a big hand or is running a pure bluff with not much in between. However, also throw in his short stack into the mix and I was thinking hmmmmm.....
My weak/tight inner voice was thinking AK/AA/KK which wouldn't be out of line for these guys since they like to trap like it's No Limit or something.

If the turn is worth capping, I think we have a value raise for the rest of his chips if the river is an Ace or non-club.

If you make any full, I think you have a clear raise. Let's assume he isnt shortstacked - will you still value raise any non-club on the river? Can you laydown to a 3bet?

A short stacked opponent totally changes the psychology of this hand. A lot of players will just find a pretty good hand and try to get in all their money. I think a part of them hopes to go bust to bring closure to the whole situation. Besides, maybe they'll get lucky and double up, the whole slot machine/lottery/gambling thing. I see it all the time first hand at B&M and it explains a lot of the behavior I see online.
I think this hand has an interesting mix of a sort of shallow stack, weird flop line and our hero has a strong non-nut holding.

Very true. I have noticed people going all-in with K high just because they're short-stacked and "committed" to the hand. Good point - go for his stack.
Also, I just noticed this - why the preflop limp?

Would you rather he raise or fold? I don't really like the limp here either but I think a fold is far better than a raise. The blinds will often defend a raise from the cutoff and 22 is often a dog to any flop without a 2. Mainly 22 should be played for set value and with only 1 limper in the pot it may not be worth it unless you are faily certain your can outplay him postflop.
