as usual I'm raising a lot, stack came from flopping nut straight and stacking a set (not vs this guy).

new V to me, he's running 40/20 or so with 20% 3 bet, but only over 35 hands. He was short, and once after he raised I 3 bet AA hoping he would shove over, he did not, I ended up playing a pot vs other big stack and paying off small river bet on spooky board after much checking.

V then ~ quaded up in multi way pot with set, was standard.

so...

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha, $2.00 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($199.70)
BB ($200)
UTG ($484)
Hero (MP) ($282.80)
Button ($282.30)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A, K, K, 8
1 fold, Hero bets $6, 1 fold, SB raises to $20, 1 fold, Hero calls $14

Flop: ($42) A, 8, 3 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($42) 5 (2 players)
SB bets $40, Hero calls $40

River: ($122) K (2 players)
SB bets $70, Hero ?

I can't see what beats us here, but I also can't imagine what hands he can have to call a shove.

That being said, I'm not sure how much NLHE sizing stuff applies, but I'm not too worried about a set of aces after his river sizing, so I'm shipping this and letting him hero call if he so desires.

1st post was directed at Griffey, as in if we're never behind, you wouldn't post this spot b/c clearly the only option is to raise the river.

2nd was that I felt flatting was nitty but probably right but you posted before I posted my thoughts on the hand.

You say he has 20% 3 bet. But is his range this wide in the SB?

Seems he would want to call and close the action with a small run down if he was going to play. And after he checked the flop and leads turn, I'd be suspicious unless he delay cbets some.

Just smells of AA to me. (unless he got lucky with a bluff and somehow had xx24)

I think you played it ok, just ul. If you bet top 2 on flop and turn, and he just calls, you're set up to lose a big pot. So
NH, WP, GG, TY, Etc..........................

Do we check behind flop because most of his range is AAxx? If so why would we ever consider raising here... I really suck at combinatorics but theres 1 combo of AAxx, 2 combos of AKxx, but he might also have a 4 and a 2 with these combos.

I wouldnt consider raising, and given the price I think its an easy call....
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

for one
also it's so dry even for omaha
pot control, if you can avoid stacking off with two pair it's usually the way to go.
he could also make a play like CR with AKQJ and we bet ourselves off the best hand.

this is a good bump for what I said in the other thread, if he had not 3 bet this hand he would have had my whole stack.
