I stole this from 2+2 but i thought it was a really cool post and wanted to see what things looked like over here. Ive been trying to work on my blind stealing play recently, and this post really made it clear how profitable it can be.

The way to measure your performance in blind stealing situations is in BB/opportunity.

For those of you with PT, make sure you turn on only one level of play in the Preferences. Choose the level you have the biggest sample at that you have been actively blind stealing. Next, follow these directions:

On the "general info"(main) page of PokerTracker, click the "Filters" button on the right side of the page about halfway down. Select "not a blind" and "chance to steal and RAISED", then click OK. Then on the "Totals" line of the middle section on the main page, write down "Net" and "Times". Repeat this process this time filtering for "not a blind" and "chance to steal and CALLED". Repeat it one last time for "not a blind" and "chance to steal and FOLDED". Then just add them up to get a "Total Net" and a "Total Times". Divide the net by the times to get $/occurence and divide that result by the size of a BB ($10 for 5/10 for example) and you will have "BB per opportunity".

I only have about 10K hands in PT for 1/2 right now, but thats what i used...

'Chance to steal and raised' = + $66.50 for 88 times
'Chance to steal and called' = - $20.75 for 27 times
Chance to steal and folded = +- 0 for 262 times
__________________________________________________
Totals = $45.75 for 377 times /2 = +0.061BB per attempt

also, my 'attempt to steal blinds' # in PT is 22.68

obviously i hope to see this number improve as i log more hands and work on my stealing some more, but it really opened my eyes as to the great difference between Raising as the first one in the pot and calling. Im interested to see some of the numbers for you guys, and again, i give all the credit to the people over at 2+2 for this discussion

What I learned from this exercise is that I've open limped 6 times in my last 6500 hands or so.

And I probably should have raised.

Edit: And 10 times in 22,000 hands before that.

Edit again: I just reviewed the HH and every last one of these open limps was awful.

Anyway sorry for the hijack. Just thought that was interesting and somewhat related.
TylerK: its just gambling if i want to worry about money i'll go to work lol

Here are my calculations for my 3/6 hands since June 1st(53,000 hands)

Chance to steal and raised = + $1,672.53 for 626 times
Chance to steal and called = - $89.00 for 14 times
Chance to steal and folded = +- 0 for 1797 times
__________________________________________________
Totals = $1,583.53 for 2,437 times /6 = +0.108 BB per attempt

I have no idea if that is a good number or not...I also looked at the 14 hands where I open limped and they were all pathetic plays by me where I hope I just clicked the wrong button or something. Most of the losses there come from one flopped top set vs a flopped straight though.
