Villian is 27/18 over about 250 hands, and seems pretty solid postflop. I'm guessing his 3betting range preflop is approx. 55+, A9+, KJ+, A7s, KTs, QJs. Don't have enough experience with him to know what he'd raise the river with in this situation, but he's never seemed afraid to put his chips in on the river.

Do i call or 3bet the river here?

Seems like an easy call given the pot size. He could have 7-7 or be overplaying a set.

I call. I don't really want to be making a decision regarding calling his 4-bet, and I doubt that you're going to get a better hand to fold. Sure, overpairs and sets play the same line, but I've recently started to lose smaller pots and it feels good...

Don't cap the flop and check the turn please.

River is an easy call.

Capping the flop isn't that bad. He probably has an equity edge and it conceals his hand.

Not when he checks the turn. Also, that line is so common, stopping at 3 would be deceptive.

I get your point but I also don't like the idea of getting raised on the turn. I guess with up to 18 outs it isn't such a disaster though.

I sometimes c/r this turn against weak opponents because if a heart comes on the river and they have Kh or Qh they'll usually cap.

A bit results-oriented. I think 3-betting the river is spew.

At the time i thought it was right to just call. But after the hand i thought if the range i put him on preflop was correct, then there were only 4 possible flush hands he could have had (KhQh, KhJh, KhTh, QhJh), 3 QJs-not-hearts hands that could have made a better straight (but seem unlikely given the action), and 21 possible set or KK+ hands. He's probably not putting me on a made flush with this action and I would think a straight is the last thing on his mind after the flop was capped. So i'm kinda leaning towards thinking i should have liked my chances and 3bet.
