with that many players, AKo quickly loses its edge. i just call preflop to hide my strength. (cap with AKs). given how you played the flop (which i thought was fine), you need to call this turn. btw, add UTG to your fish list.

Since you capped PF, raise the flop; not a bad call, but a raise would be better. The paired board is not bad for your hand and a raise will give you more information about UTG than your call. If UTG 3 bets you, call/check/fold the turn UI. If UTG calls, check the turn.

That is horrible and wrong in so many ways. AKo gains value mulit-way (AKo and AQo are the only offsuit unpaired hands that do this.) Deception at this level is just silly.

I *might* call here pre-flop. I really want to know more about the SB.

1) The SB's 3-bet looks like a legit monster, and without a read I'll give him a little credit. JJ/AQ or better.
2) I want to see what UTG does. His cap/no-cap decision is good information.
3) SB will probably auto-bet any flop. If I just call, I can raise him when I hit and face the field with 2 cold protecting my hand and making it more likely my opponents make a mistake.
4) If we cap we're put in a spot were we probably have to auto-bet any flop when we miss and loose players will correctly call the 1sb with just about any 2 cards.

A pre-flop cap probably has value (unless we have more info on the SB.) However, just calling puts us in a position to generate more value post-flop.
