Raising the river is pretty bad.

Bet and call down if raised is a reasonable line
Bet and fold to a raise is good against predictable opponents
Check/Call, Check/Call, Bet/Fold (or Bet/Call) is a fun one against aggressive opponents to keep them in line.

Personally, I am leading the flop here everytime. I find I can tell a lot better where I am vs people by keeping the lead and not risk giving a free card to a worse hand.

I play the same way sometimes. I'm just trying to figure out if we are better off takeing the pot down on the flop or maybe slow playing and leting them bet with a worse hand.

If you're going to check/call the flop + turn, then bet the river. Check/raising turns your hand into a bluff against AA/KK and people tend to like to see showdowns with those hands so they can tell a complete bad beat story.
