Ok this may be stupid, but in a six handed 3/6 game there are 3 limpers, including SB, and you have AKo in the BB check or raise? How would you play the flop.

I always raise AKo in the BB. If anything, you have the best hand now and you want value out of it. Most of the time, I fire out a bet on the flop even when i whiff... I play the turn case by case though

Raise for value.
Against players who play between 35-40% of hands you have about 33-35% equity in a 4 way pot giving you the edge.

Value wise, yes, raise for value.. Yawn.

Shania? Not so sure. Does your raise table your hand? Raises from the blinds (especially in multiway limped pots) generally mean high pocket pairs or big aces (like, oh i dunno, AK.) Good job, youve given everyone at your table a pretty strong hint at your hand, and I don't really like to do that.

Granted you've trapped everyone preflop for an extra SB - but can you make more than that checking / checkraising? Its a little table dependant. You've got a 10% equity edge - can you make it up postflop by checking and setting up a checkraise when you hit and getting the hell out of dodge when you whiff?

I'm not necessarily advocating a check, I'm posing questions. I am advocating getting off level 1 thinking, though.

I get where you are coming from euphoricism, but the fact that you might announce a large pp to the rest of the table is the main reason I thought of raising. I mainly planned on setting up a check/raise on the flop and possibly even if i missed.

U cannot check raise the flop if u raise out of sb/bb... only a donk or high Pair and strong draw is betting out. If you miss completely you still bet out the flop and hope for everybody to fold. fire on the turn and everything plays out from there.....

Well, if we check preflop, and we get a piece of the flop - we lead out on the flop and hammer away. If we whiff, I advocate a check/call (assuming I only have to call one). If I hit a piece of the turn, I c/r there, if not, I check/fold.
