PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2, 2
3 folds, Button raises, 1 fold, Hero calls

Flop: (4.5 SB) 6, 7, J (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero ?

1. according to MEBenhoe's short handed PF chart we should call with 22.
2. its coin flip against 2 overcards, if he has a pocket pair i am underdog.

Does anyone can explain, why its right decision to play 22 on the BB against steal and out of possition ?

I see there just one possible way how to play this particular hand.
Checkraise the flop, if he calls, i bet the turn whatever comes. And it starts to seem like spewing money.

well, not really...
There are many options.
One thing to do is to PF 3bet ppl who have high att2st and just call against tighter raisers.
Postflop, depending texture of the board, u will use different lines, also influenced by how villain plays.
Is he tight postflop and u just called his raise? c/r most boards
Is he very aggressive and may bluff multiple streets? c/c all the way
Is he very passive? c/c flop, c/f turn if he fires again

You should tend to attack drier boards, and let go on drawy ones.

If u 3bet, u should c-bet 100% of flops HU, and most turns too, if u meet no resistance.

So many variables.......

1st, I really recommend that u read Stox book on SHLHE.

As a rule of thumb, look at it this way:

If your hand has more than 30% equity against his range, and you are getting 3.5-1 on your call, you should show a profit theoretically over the long run.
Accounting for being out of position, you should probably play hands that have 40% equity or more. This is because your implied odds go down, domination concerns go up, and playability issues due to positional disadvantages will occur.

If you feel you have a big postflop edge against villain, even oop, then you can/should defend much wider.

i wont call 22 from the BB in that situation. i 3bet it and donk a flop and go from there. its not so much about what YOU have, but more about what you can make him THINK you have.

players down here will put you on a very tight range if you 3bet, until they get a note on you (which most wont). so, you play to that. if the board hits AK/QQ+, you sell it. if it hits low, you test the waters like you still have AK/QQ+. god forbid you flop that duck, crush him for several BBs, and jack his mind all up for the next 1/2 hour.

if you crash and burn, you will look like a complete fool and can then use that to your advantage to take the money back and then some.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
