This was at pacific 2/4

sb: 7T spades
4 limpers + bb, so I called. Was this correct?

flop:
895 rainbow
I checked and called with 3 more guys.
Shoul I have raised here?

turn:
5
again: I checked and called with 3 more guys.

river:
6
one bet, one raise, I called, one fold, fist better calls.
I figure with a pair on the board that a full house could be around, so I chickened. how bad was not reraising this? I mean, I don't want to invest a possible 4bb in the river with the 2nd best hand!
any thoughts?
outcome: +13bb

thx

i think the idea here is that if you already know you are going to be calling a bet, then you might as well be the aggressor and bet first. you can scare people into folding when you bet first, but you can never scare anybody out by calling.

on the river, i just don't see how you can be scared of two 5's on the board. what playable hand could have a boat?

It is Pacific afterall, but I think you gotta 3-bet the river.

88, 99, 55, 66, and since the big blind is in the hand, 85, 95, 65. Don't get me wrong, I'd reraise the river in a second, but you really can't dismiss any of those hands in that pot, especially the pocket pairs.

i think you would see pre flop raises from fish with any pocket pair. and certainly a lot more action on the flop and turn with any set. the ONLY hand i'd remotely fear is 65. but losing to a boat is not something i feel bad about when it happens. missing a big bet when i've got the best hand IS.

i put the river raiser on a one-card 9 high straight which you obviously beat. cap that sucker.
