Why did you check the flop in hand one?

The tables were playing really tight at the time. Unless someone had caught a piece of the flop they were going to fold to anything on that board, and I'f they had caught it the chances are they'd bet or slowplay. I wanted to let others make the play or get some more cards on the table so someone might get sucked in.

I thought I might put something in on the river to look like a questioning straight bet, hoping to get anyone with a flush draw or a real straight to hang around to the river and disguise my quads.

The second hand was really annoying. I felt if I called then checked the river the guy would probably check behind. I didn't want to let him see my cards cheaply so I felt that a raise was on, but he was tight enough to lay it down. I guess in the future I have to take the chance and let him see the river and hope he hits it or bluffs at me and I can get him where he's more pot commited.

Oh, oops. I misread your hand. I thought you just had trips and not quads.
