A few days ago in a b&m, I was in a 1-5 spread game, playing my usual tight-scared game.
One particular hand:
me: _3K_ K33K _6_
not me:_??_J7J8 two suited (it might have been 8J, I think I check raised on the 5th street) __
On third street I raised from 1 to 2.
Basically afterwards, I bet, the guy who been playing aggressively all night, raised, I reraised, he capped every round.
By 6th street I had few funds left so I just called his raise, and the river only had $5 left, so I bet it and lost to quad jacks. I put him on J7 or 77 hole cards, or a T9 suited matching the J8, or worse, as he played a lot of hands.
The last king was live, and the last trey too, as much good as that would have done me.
In retrospect I should have just called each round until I got the third king, but my brain turned off at the 3's full and I became raise happy. Regardless, it seems I was meant to lose.

He should have put you on a full house when the 2 king was showing, so you might call from there. Beyond that though, 3s full is huge, I wouldn't put him on quads. Looks like a straight to me.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

3's full is huge, K's full is virtually unbeatable. you cannot feel bad about betting the hell out of your hand. i would have put the guy on J's full at best.
was he giving off any tells whatsoever?
