The first limit ring game i played was 1/2 at UB, i never played any stakes lower than 1/2 until recently. I averaged 3BB/100 at 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6, but 3/6 is based on limited experience. For a while there though, i concentrated on NL SnGs and i was having trouble adjusting to ring games when i finally started playing them again. That's when Fnord suggested learning no fold'em hold'em. Even if i had relative success at higher stakes in the past, Fnord thought learning no fold'em hold'em is a must for anyone who intends to learn limit games the right way. But i tell him that the money would be too little to keep me amuzed. Fnord's answer to that was three tabling, and most importantly, that the very good players average 10BB/100 at .5/1 games. You do the math, if you can average 10BB/100, for most people, three tabling .5/1 game is better than three tabling 1/2. Even if by miniscule margin, Players are tighter at 1/2 games, you just can't average 10BB/100 at 1/2 games. I understand that the variance is high in no fold'em, too many chasers and poor play will lead to some wild swings. But overall, i find the game very beatable. I'm planning to stick with .5/1 until i too can average 10BB/100. Has or is anyone averaging 10BB/100 at .5/1? If so, it'd be nice if you can share how long you've been playing them and some facts about the specific game. For me, i think Fnord made a great suggestion. I do agree that you should learn to play no fold'em before you start playing higher stakes, that's even if you have had relative success at higher limits. Of course if you are averaging 10BB/100 at 3/6 games... you don't even need to be reading this crap.

If you're making 5+BB/100, you're destroying the game godlike. 10BB/100 is amazing and unrealistic over a long period of time.
