I've just got to say something about the guy that won it, another newbie, and I don't recall his name. What an ego!

If you didn't catch it, it was hilarious, and aggravating at the same time. He's an ex-collegiate wrestler and has set his goal to become the best poker player. When asked about how he felt playing with all those great players as a first timer, he said "I expect to win". He also said it in his introductory piece, and after big pots and the championship win, he would stand up and raise his arms like he just pinned Dan Gable. Thats the aggravating part.

What makes it funny was the guy's inexperience. He almost dropped his cards a couple of times when turning them over on all-ins. He had to ask about the betting structure several times. And once he actually mis-read his hand to be a straight when it wasn't. The dealer had to count out the hand "T,J,K,Q, thats only four cards sir" or whatever.

Another hand just a few later he turned over his hand on an all-in and said, in a really excited voice, "I've got two pair, with a flush", I think he meant he had a flush draw, or he's used to playing four card Omaha.

None of that dampened his enthusiasm or his ego.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone saw that and what you thought.

Unfortunately I did watch this display of absolute shit! I almost shit myself when he thought he had a straight and he was still drawing to it, he just got lucky, and I personally don't think he should have won that thing (I believe he won? If I remember right he did). I almost changed the channel it pained me so much to watch that guy play at a final table of the WSOP...

i saw it as well, and it kind of pained me to.

i like to see a little humility in people. i realize in the poker world, this is sometimes asking for a lot.

and reading a straight can sometimes be challenging!
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...
