it was said awhile back that we should get together and play at the same table and chat/review some hands so we can all make each other better. i liked that idea a lot, but it didnt seem to get a lot of "bite." maybe it was the level that was mentioned, etc. but, i still think we should do something like this. i am proposing a monthly game on some weeknight that we can all make. i think we could set up a private table at stars, or maybe just load one from 0 players and fill it up. if we play fr, great. but, there may only be 5 or 6 of us interested, so we may need to use a 6max table to keep the "strangers" off. i have really been looking for a regular game locally among friends, and i am almost there. but, most of them want to play NL, which i have almost zero interest in playing anymore. i was thinking of a level between .25/.50 and $1/$2. that is over some of our heads, and way under some of our heads. that seems like a decent compromise, to me. i, mainly, would like to see how WE stack up against each other....those of us doing most of the posting in here. initially, i am thinking of: Dog, Asd, Korn, Knyter, Lance, Flop, me, and a smattering of other regs that dont post in here often, but know what they are doing.....spenda, elipses, etc. surely, we can get 6+ out of that. so...........any interest? |

cool. i already asked stars (since some of us are US players  ) if i could set up a private table. lol. they responded immediately and said, "yes, we have opened access to private tourney set up for you upon this request."i laughed and said, "i want ring games, not tourneys." they laughed and said, "no. we arent set up for ring game private tables yet." i had them forward that suggestion to management and they said they'd get back to me. lol.....in about 10 years i bet. so, i think we will have to set a time and all show up on time to "kidnap" a cash table at the same time. we will, i suppose, have to coordinate this through msnmessenger, email, or another messaging system. when we get 6+, i will start asking what day of the week, and what week of the month, typically works for everyone. and, we'll go from there. yeehaw. |

why not play a FR table, say 7 or 8 of us.... and if a couple fish join, who cares? we'll take their moneys! muahuahahuaha! i mean, it wont change anything to have a couple unknowns anyways, and it may be a terrible bitch to coordinate so that we are the ONLY ones at a table. It should only add a bit more intrigue and interest to our discussion of hands, and our standing vis-a-vis each other. |

so far we have: me, lance, asd, korn. i have pm'd some others and have a list of guys that KNOW limit of about 10-12 people. all with varying skills and the br to play the limits we talked about. and, yeah, it would be better if we just let some donkeys in, too. i just thought we may use the chatbox to talk shit to each other or help. maybe we all get in msnmessenger? i would love to do this with vent or a voice chat program. that way we could call each other donkeys in real time like a live game. |

There is a also a chance either me or asdpikas can record this and put it up on grinderschool as a video (since asdpikas will be releasing some low-stakes LHE videos for us). I'm down play and we can record audio as well in either ventrilo or skype; I'm more free during the day and if I can't sit in the game I can help out with the video aspects of it. | |||

spenda is in, too. so, it looks like we will have 6+ and can play a fr game, or 6max. or mix and match for whatever jeff, spenda, and asd want to shoot. since you are shooting the vids, you can dictate the game based on demand or inventory shortages. however, you dont have my permission to release my pending donkeyness across the internet. i'll never sign your waiver. never, i tell you! j/k. edit: i gave spenda a time frame of "likely after Cmas." hope that suits all of you, too. we'll see what everyone agrees on. some of us are going to play above ourselves, and some of us will have to play below. its not fair to ask the more experienced guys to play way below their normal levels, or they would just keep making money up there.  they are being nice enough to come slum with us....cuz they like us and wanna halp.now, if the GSchool boys want to tape a ubermicro vid, i dont think we'd complain. but, i expect this to be .25/.50 or .50/1 most likely. oh, and i didnt mean to leave out all y'all Kwanzea (or how'ver the fuk its spelt) people. |

Sounds great to me. .25/.50 would be best for me, especially against you guys...anything higher, I may as well write you all a check and hand it to you lol. It is a really good idea for the regulars here to get together occasionally for a few friendly hands of poker even if we are just shifting money around the table. Good "get together time". no probs, guys. i feel like we'll kick this thing off after holidays settle down a bit. somewhere around mid-January. count on once a month, and i guess we should alternate between FR and 6max. i personally dont care which we do. i am expecting to play maybe an hour or two and get back on our way with the other stuff. but, i would like to see some discussion and hand posting pop up in this forum about some plays and/or leaks discovered in some other players. i think that first and foremost this should be to make EVERYONE better and to socialize, too.....not to crush the noobs for their bankrolls. if we want to do that, we can just learn a little and go out and crush for the other 29 days. besides, i like that we FTR guys tend to stick together somewhat. just my opinion/dream, i guess. updated list: me, lance, asdpikas, flopmonkey, iopq, ragnar4, kornholio, drivingdog, bigspenda73, and elipsesjeff. looks like 25c/50c is the "request," too. any problems with starting there? the next question is: how to find each other? i suppose we will pick a day, and a time, a couple days in advance and put it in a thread in the forum. then, when someone gets on a table, they can shoot the table name into the thread and we can all sit down and/or wait on that table. |

I love how I put the same idea out there a month ago, and everyone was like. R4 you tard, no one wants to. Now Chopper gets behind the idea and we've got some viewership. I'm totally down with the idea of being a group of guys playing and talking about the things done right, and things done wrong in a personal coaching sense. No-one loses, ever, in that scenario. The good players take the money, the bad players learn the lessons, and get better and challenge the good players to stay a step ahead in each lesson. |

| Seems to me we can just agree a time here (when the time comes) and then closer to that time one of us (Chopper?) picks a table. Everyone who's going to play sits down but 'sits out' until we're all ready to go - that ensures we all get on the same table and some random guys don't take our spots. | |||

here's my suggestion for a date: Tuesday, January 13th @ 8pm CST. 25c/50c on PokerStars. i think we need to make the first one a FR game since we have such interest. now, we could open 2 tables to allow someone to sit on only one, but others to sit on both? i think that may appeal to most of us since its FR. |
