SECOND HAND 10-handed at $.50/$1.00 on Hollywood.

I am on button with As 4s. UTG folds. UTG+1 folds. UTG+2 calls. UTG+3 folds. UTG+4 calls. UTG+5 folds. CO (posted) checks. Button (ME) calls. SB calls. BB checks. 6 players see the flop.

Flop comes: Ks Tc 2s. Pot is at $3.00.

First player checks.
Second player checks.
Third player bets.
Fourth player folds.
Fifth player folds.

Pot is at $3.50 and it is up to me. I decided to call because I didnt want to lose the blinds with a raise, since I had a strong draw. Was this the correct play? OR should I have raised to possibly buy some outs if an ace hits (maybe a blind has A8 or something like that?)?

Yes you want as many as possible in the pot if you hit and be able to chase as cheap as possible. There is allways a chance the your aces are dirty with a KT flop.

Your call on the flop is not bad, but a raise is better for two main reasons:

1. At your limit you are still likely get to called by someone who hit the flop in any way (including lower diamond draws); and
2. To get a free card on the turn.

The raise may also clear possible outs to the Ace, but I wouldn't raise here for that reason.

This is a clear raise.
It isn't close.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Haha that's what I do

But I was thinking, why is it the correct play? At my stakes raising or calling means the same amount of callers...
