Hi guys,

thanks again for your analysis on the previous thread with KK and JJ. I will try to remember those pointers you guys are telling me for free . I feel like a fish wading in shark infested waters of 1-2 !! and I need all the help i can get.

I have a problem playing medium pair when there are 2 overcards on flop. Is there any special circumstance where you should continue beyond the flop or should just let it go when there are 2 overcards to your underpair on flop ? I fold it most of the time but sometimes i dont and I am paying big time for that. I am going to put a sticky on my computer to remind myself not to do that. EVER

-----------------------
Hand 1:
If someone is calling on flop and turn after preflop raise, must have at least weak ace right. No need to bet the river but check call. villan couldve had flush draw also right. ? but more often than not an ace ??

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 max, 10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with Q, Q.
2 folds, Hero raises, 4 folds, Button calls, 2 folds.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 9, A, 4 (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) A (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (5.75 BB) J (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 7.75 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Qs Qc (two pair, aces and queens).
Button has Kd Kh (two pair, aces and kings).
Outcome: Button wins 7.75 BB.

----------------------------------------------
Hand 2:

I am an IDIOT. I repeat - I played it like an IDIOT. Learnt my lesson, I should have just folded on the turn. Anyone who 3 bet preflop and 3 bets the flop on a draw free board must
have either the K or the A here. I am definitely way behind.

Hand 1: same way I'd play it
Hand 2: fold after getting 3-bet
he EXPECTS you to call for one more small bet so he feels like he's got the best hand by far
Yep, he has a set of kings - which is how strong I read that flop 3-bet
Hand 3: Same way I'd play it

But the problem is we play different limits and I may or may not suck :O

1- perfect
2- call the 3 bet, fold the turn, cap the river
3- perfect
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

ya that's atrocious to fold to a 3-bet, however I would not cap it, that's spraying I believe.

and $1-2 limit is not shark infested waters lol

Thanks a lot guys. I have problems sometimes playing underpair to two overcards and your advice makes it a bit easy on how to proceed in the future. Hand 2 was definitely VERY POORLY played by me.

Yes it may not be shark infested for you (because you all play higher limits ) but I just moved up from 0.5-1 and down 25 BB after 2000 hands. I know its a very small sample and I played 23000 hands in 0.5-1 so I will wait at least 10000 hands to evaluate (and of course try to improve along the way) WHETHER i REALLY SUCK at this limit !!

Thanks again folks. I will play some more and post some AK and AQ hands I lost.

I was down 100BB at one point last night. Then I made 50 of it back at one table. The bizaro poker world where AA only comes when I either get no action or cracked, AKo is a net loser (along with AA/KK), A-Big losing to A-little, cracked sets, cracked straights, every bluff called, 6 or 12 or more outs and they all miss, etc hit.

ya, I started raising more since I play 3-6 6max here and there, and what you said about the dry streaks is true. You feel like you're pissing chips away by aggression, but when the cards come, you might make 25-50 bb in a short period of time.

I bluffed a guy one hand last night, then next hand he raised and I call with 66 in the bb, I flop a boat and he caps the turn and river. weee

So i take it you dont recommend Poker World? Not that I need another place to play, I am now playing at 4 rooms. But I never heard of Poker World and was curious about them. Are they like at Paradise, where the rivers flow freely and their is a river for one and all? Because you sound alot like I did when I first joined Paradise Poker.

FTR picked up the keyword and auto-linked. It was a figure of speech (I was playing on Empire.) Never played at PokerWorld.
