Down near 100bb at .5/1 limit. I didn't think I could swing this bad. I'll admit some has been bad play, but nowhere near the majority(or so it seems to my knowledge of the game).

Can it just be varience and a little bad play, or are there generaly more fundamental problems in a swing this size ?

Posting a hand where AA gets cracked doesn't help anybody. Aces lose fairly often and there is nothing you can do about that. If you really want help determining if something is wrong with your game, you are better off posting hands where you have a much more marginal hand.

tilting or playing when you are tired has more of an impact on a downswing than you think; it affects your ability to let the bad beats wear off and move on.
