8/16 1/2 Kill Live.

I pick up :Ks: :Kc: UTG and raise. I have a tight and kinda aggro image, yet for some reason these lemmings like to try to chase me down and pay me off. I have around 1.4k of chips in front of me and have been running good.

like 5 or so people call me and we're off to the flop.

flop is :Qc: :Ts:
I bet and at least one player folds, maybe even two.

Turn is :Kh:
I bet, next player to act is the second tightest guy at the table and uber-passive. He quietly raises. The remaining player or two folds and I just call.

River is :Tc: !!!!!!!!!!
I check intending to raise his straight...

With no streets even getting 3-bet before the river, I have to imagine even a very passive player will bet the river with a straight, so I think you are good going for the check raise.

To the hand, c/r is fine, leading sucks IMO against this player unless you've seen him check behind strong hands before.

He checked AJ behind.

Still getting a feel for this limit thing again and such.

I think running good was making people even more passive than usual with maybe an exception or two.

If he's uber-passive he may very well check behind when the board pairs.

I like leading there with your image. Many opps will put u on a hand like AT or AK there and think that you are just trying to steal the pot on the river... and they'll raise you with the straight.

Checking gives you the possibility of 0 or 2 bets.

Leading gives you the possibility of 1 or 3 and I think you are getting 3 bets a lot more than you would think.

Ah, but c/r'ing (or simply checking) the nuts can get you free showdowns in the future with weak 1pr type hands.

Probably too much metagame for a 6/12 game tho.

Any game online that doesn't use pennies plays tougher than this game.

I've found a new home for a while.

I probably c/r too. Villain was described as super passive, but its just a matter of whether guarenteed 1bb is better than x% chance for 2bb. I dont see villain raising the river without an underboat, and i dont see him ever folding either. Its definitely a 1bb or x%(2bb) decision, which probably doesn't matter much in the long run.

I would probably default to a check/raise, you've seriously under represented your hand and he'd be absolutely retarded to put you on a boat just because you called the turn raise.

Both donking and c/r are fine for shania, and it doesnt seem like Mrs Twain matters too much in this game anyway. So thats a wash in my book.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

I think check-raising is definitely the best play. He always has a straight, and will never raise with it, but he'll bet if you check and might call a raise. I'm amazed he was so passive that he checked behind with the nut straight.

I agree going for the check-raise was the better play. Betting out once the board pairs puts the frighteners on most of the tight/passive B&M regs I've come into contact with. Check and he'll bet the straight nearly always, and call the check-raise even more often.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
