No real read on the villain, have never seen him before. I just called my bottom set on the flop in position to see what everyone else wanted to do. If someone is sandbagging KK, TT or a huge draw and check-raises big I want to know before I get money in.
Table has generally been pretty passive, I don't think someone would check-raise pot with top 2 or worse after I call behind the preflop raisor. When the villain makes that smallish bet it looks to me like he isn't too scared of the straight. I think the ace just hit him and he has AA+nut flush draw, possibly QJ.

1/2 pot bets aren't usually the nuts on a scary board, but I would still raise pot on flop and fold if anyone comes in behind with another potsize raise.
I think you should not raise the turn and flat call, also call a river bet to a non-spade.

Fold preflop
as played, its eitehr fold or RR pot on turn. One person noted that 1/2 pot doesn't usually mean nuts, but sometimes it does (or I hit st8 and have flush backup, or mid set with crap flush draw, so I REEEEEAAALLY want a call or raise). Even when it doesn't mean the nuts, is he a good enough player to fold with the two higher trips here? You'd have to bet pot to find out. Without a specific read, folding is fine. This is why you typically don't like to play 8855 without good reads.
I too would call flop with people left to act. You have to make a decision on the turn. The idea of calling turn and river as one poster suggested is awful.

A min raise preflop generally means high cards, sometimes even AAxx. I like to play these small-med double pairs when in position and it's cheap to see a flop. But like you said, you do need the right reads to be able to play them profitably.
On the flop I am only moderately happy with my bottom set. Seemingly passive preflop raisor bets pot, so it's pretty safe to assume that he hit this flop with his very likely high cards. Whether this is KK/TT, a straight draw or AA (with or without the flush draw) isn't known.
On the turn, there's really no hands left that I am ahead of except a bare flush draw. If I call and boat up with a T, K or A I could well be beat by 2 pair hitting a boat. I try to avoid these small favorite/massive dog situations (much like small pairs preflop in hold'em) so I actually folded.

I think we all misread HH. Pot is 18SB = $9, he bets pot not 1/2 pot on flop. 1/2 pot turn.
Don't think that changes this from a fold.

Yeah my bad, I used the converter (designed for LHE) and just added in the bet sizes.
