Well, you really can't blame the guy with the King for staying in. He had top pair with good kicker on the flop and turn. QQ and JJ perform worse at low limit hold-em. More people stay in, and this is a hand that typically remains unimproved through all streets. There were way too many people in this hand to feel comfortable with your vulnerable to draw holdings.
This isn't an extraordinary beat in my eyes. I never expect hands to win. It puts me on tilt when those expectations are shattered. I just shake it off and move on. This happens a lot. Also, don't celebrate too joicefully when your BB 72 hits a 722 ghost house.
If I have a high pocket pair with a ton of callers, I almost submit to plausable certain defeat. Allow yourself to believe they will lose multi handed, and you'll gain confidence when they actually hold up. They're gonna lose multi handed, they're gonna lose multi handed, they're go....

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Don't underestimate the EV of AA KK QQ. These are PRIMO hands. They will win their fair share of head up AND mulitway pots. However, you can't win them all. In fact, you HAVE TO lose some. K9o is going to lose to QQ more than its going to win. On a side note, MP3's call on the river may be a better play than raising. If he can expect at least one caller to call behind, he'll make more BB than if he raises and all the players behind him fold. Unfortunately for him (and fortunately for you) it didnt work out that way, but I think it was an interesting play.

Actually I never thought I would win this with so many people.
It surprises me that I almost had it though, and all the passive calling.
the "problem" with the K9 guy is not actually staying in the hand. It's
being in it to begin.
Don't get me worng.... I like this kind of players, and I got all my money back plus some!

MP3 cold called on the flop getting 16.5:2 or 8:1 odds, just enough to chase his 5-outer. Technically he played correctly after his horrible pre-flop call.
I suppose the only way to protect your hand would be to call the flop and raise the turn. Then he would be facing 12.75:2 or 6:1 to see that river.
But I'm not sure I would ever have the guts to pull off such a risky maneuver. And if the guy's a real fish, he'll still cold call two big bets on the turn, losing you even more on the hand.
