In this post there's an interesting concept on playing AK from the blinds.
Basically elindauer says that it's better to call the raise and check/raise any flop because you get a better insight to what your opponent has using this, and it also lets him make more mistakes.
THoughts?

Meh, I disagree. Sounds like a fancy play syndrome. You're going to get over 1/3 of the time you're going to get AK in the blinds and you are going to lose a ton of value IMO by not reraising it.

one of things im finding myself thinking about when im running bad is how pleased i am that my opponents dont know how to get maximal value when they have the best of it.

I only reraise AK here about half the time. It really depends on your opponents.
If you are playing HU against a player who will call the 3 bet and fold the flop, the EV is greater to just call preflop.
These players are rare, though.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.
