River bet is pretty thin, but I admire your fearlessness. Every other street is perfect.

I really figured he had nothing when he stopped betting.

But in another hand that just happened, he raised and re-raised to where I started to seriously wonder if my trips would take him down. But I couldn't see anything on the board for him (possible flush), so I kept going and cleaned him out.

I actually could have raised him a bit more than I did...

To clarify, he was so passive with that great hand that when he started raising the hell out of me shortly afterwards, he almost psyched me out.

Trying to talk and play poker at the same time is tripping me up.

Re: ShotFrog's AJs hand:

Wouldn't checking behind on the Turn be an option too? The opponent did come out betting on the flop. Or, is taking over the betting the best play in hopes of getting TPG(T)K to lay down their hand on the turn. We all know that we wouldn't lay our TPG(T)K down.

These are precisely the kind of hands that I feel my over-aggression costs me money on. Cuz' I probably would have played it the same way too. But again, I think I have an over-aggression problem that is a serious leak that I'm working on.

Hearing Fnord say he admires ShotFrog's fearlessness doesn't help me with my aggression problem! Hey al'cy .... wanna drink?!

Seriously though .... I do tend to cost myself money in exactly these kind of hands .... I often take over the betting lead on the flop only to be called down by a more passive player or calling station players.

Anyone have any advice on how to temper my aggressive tendencies?

Well, it's fearlessness when it works...

I'm new at this, so forgive if this is a silly question. Why is the river bet thin? Is it because a third diamond came on the river? I think I'd have bet this river since he stopped playing back at me.

Thanks.
