Hello,
i'm new to FTR so be gentle I read lot's of hand posts here and i thought i'd post one of mine since i would like some advice on a hand like this.
Have no image of the table or reads yet, just started on this table.
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with J , Q .
2 folds, Hero calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.
Flop: (7 SB) J , 4 , 7 (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds.
Turn: (6 BB) J (5 players)
SB bets, Hero folds, MP1 calls, MP2 raises, CO calls, SB calls, MP1 calls.
River: (14 BB) 4 (4 players)
SB checks, MP1 bets, MP2 calls, CO raises, SB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.
Final Pot: 22 BB
Was it good that i folded once that third spade came? I was almost sure noone had a J but my three of a kind would lose vs a possible flush with so many people in it also.. Or should i have called with three 4's, three 7's, a J and three Q's as my out's?
Any critique is welcome..
thanks

I think that's a bad fold. You have 10 outs (3.6:1) for your boat and you are getting 7-1. I probably call and then call a single raise from LP. Would only fold facing 2 bets back to me. Worst case scenario is you hit your boat and have to chop the pot.

I believe it was an absolutely horrible laydown. You have no information whether or not you are actually behind a flush. You still have 10 outs to catch a boat or better in this case.

i did see the pot lay me enough to call but i was sure someone else had the flush and was scared of raises and reraises so that it wasn't just one bet to call.
but even then i see now that i should have called

Unfortunately with limit you often have to call (or raise) even though you know you are behind. That was one of my biggest leaks when I first started. I was laying down strong hands on the river when I *thought* I was beat and laying down good drawing hands when I was behind. I kept recalling the old saying, "fold when you know your are beat." Had to push that out of my head...

(Without reading responses)
I'm not ready to fold just yet. He could have the other jack with a lower kicker, or may even be bluffing with a lower pair, assuming paired jacks means no one else has a jack. Raise the turn to isolate and see what happens. If you're reraised still see the river, because you could make a full house if anything on the board pairs. You may loose to someone with a J7, but don't worry about it, because these guys may also have flushes or something else.
If a safe card falls on the river (ie a non club), I'm probably still showing this down, the pot is big.

looks like a pretty easy raise to me. if they have a jack, you probably have it outkicked. you're also charging bad odds for single flush card holders, whereas if you called everyone has great odds.
and if you're 3bet, that's fine too, you have 10 outs. and looking at how the hand played, you missed a lot of pot equity you coulda pushed (no one folded the turn, making your turn raise +EV even against a flush).
