2/4 PL Omaha H/L
Picked up quad aces in UTG+2. 1st 2 players folded. I raise to $14. Everybody fold and I pick up the blinds.
I thought because i had all the aces, it was unlikely anyone had a hand capable of calling. If called I would have led the flop if called and shut down afterwards. Is this a good play?

Meh, is your goal to pick up blinds?
Is the table worth playing at if you are?

So, what do you plan to do if just one player calls you in position? Clear fold, in my opinion.

Do you raise much in O8 OOP? In some ways this is a nice hand to bluff with, since only a fish would play the low without an ace (2345 maybe).
I guess it's OK if the table's tight and you want to raise crap occasionally for image.

This is so not true, particularly in a Big Bet format.
KQJT, KKQJ, KKJJ, etc. are all playable scooping hands.

Hmmm... I guess I wasn't clear. My thinking is that ONLY high hands (like those above) call you, which is a deptarture from the usual O8 every ace+2 babies sees a flop. Also, no AXsYY hands in play. Just doesn't leave many "standard" hands. I would hope that the blinds are tight.
I actually like this play more if hero was in better position... as is, just too many donks to hope they don't like their pretty cards (TT98 double suited)
The downside (of course, pointed out by others) is that your hand cannot possibly win a showdown.

this means i can easily bet out on a low flop and checkfold a 9JK flop

I don't follow this. The fact that those hands are playable means you can put a random caller on a range of hands this specific?

Against 2 random hands (I used pocketfives calc which doesn't do ranges. I don't think there is an omaha pokerstove?)
AAAA vs 2 random hands
9.42% win high, 33.68 loose both
AAAA vs 1 random hand
26.49% to win high, 16.58% to loose both

I think lack of postflop playability is equally if not more important than these win percentages.

There is a good reason why Omaha is almost never played in a no limit format.
It's a post-flop game.
