PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (10 handed) http://www.flopturnriver.com/reviews/Online-Poker-PokerStars.php#converter]Poker Stars[/url] Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, A.
4 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, Hero caps, Button calls, SB calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (18 SB) 2, 4, 5 (4 players)
SB bets, MP2 calls, Hero raises, Button folds, SB calls, MP2 calls.

Turn: (12 BB) 9 (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, SB calls, MP2 calls.

River: (15 BB) T (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, Hero...

MP2 is a fish: 85/0/0.6, never seems to raise anything, even near-nuts. OTOH I've seen him play 72s on the button, so he could have ANYTHING.
SB is 17/13/1.25 so I'm more concerned about his holding...but can I really see him holding anything that can beat me? Can I extract another bet from him? Probably not, but probably yes from MP2 (unless he has A3 or 63, both of which are in his range!)
Oh, no! Not another learning experience!

Elaborate river check-raises don't happen much (even at higher limits). MP2 could have a flush draw, but he would surely bet it on the end after it hits. He could also well have something like A5 and keep calling. Bet for value and collect calls from weaker 1 pair hands.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Thanks, K. I'm almost embarassed to post something this basic, and yet these basic ones that come up often are among the most important to clarify.

I don't think--I'm sure!--that I don't press my advantages enough at the end of the hand. It's not the fallacy "there's enough in the pot" but rather a lack of confidence about risking that last bet. Typical novice stuff.

I've posted much, much worse hands. Don't be afraid to post "basic" hands. A lot of the time someone else will have a different take or thought process, which in itself can help out your overall game.
