UTG is a very loose and aggressive (about 70/40/4). Note that there is no betting cap heads-up.
Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with A A
UTG calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG calls.
Flop: 5 3 K (6.5SB, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls.
Turn: 7 (4.25BB, 2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG re-raises, Hero calls.
River: 3 (10.25BB, 2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG re-raises, Hero calls.
Results:
Final pot: 16.25BB

There is no cap on crpyto--betting can go on until one of the players is out of money.
Also, the river pair trumps a two pair he may have made on the turn (and fails to complete any straight draw he may have made).

Everyone wants to cap this turn (as would have I if it was possible), but given that there is no cap, would a 4-bet be wise, risking a possible 5-bet back? Or was I right to stop at 3?

i think your hand didnt improve so much on the river that you should raise, if you think your hand wasnt strong enough on the turn to put in a 4th bet.
