Late night Pacific Poker 3/6 (because the 5/10 games suck), my first orbit.

I have A 9 on the button
Folded to the CO who raises, I 3-bet, SB caps, BB folds, all call

3 to the flop, $37.50 in the pot.

4 5 3
SB checks, CO checks, I bet expecting to be raised..., both call (WTF?!?!)

3 to the turn, $46 in the pot
K
Checked to me and I check behind

3 to the river, still $46 in the pot
K
SB bets, CO folds, I count the pot and call...

There are many possiblities, but Frnold's chance to win in this hand is low, i think.

He fropped a crub frush draw and went for over-carrs. Maybe he was gonna rep AK on the turn? I was surprised I both made the call and won...

108 clubs cap preflop with only three people playing in the flop only? He is a buddy really.

if someone had AA the best move would be to smooth call the flop then attempt to checkraise the turn. that's what it takes to protect your hand against draws in such a giant pot. fortunately that's not what you were up against in this case, but it was a real threat... assuming your opponent was smart and read his sklansky. i've never played 5/10 so i don't know what quality of players exist there.

I disagree, because punks like me will check behind on the turn too often. AA should bet that flop and hope a smaller pocket pair wants to go to war. If you call the flop and c/r the turn worse hands won't be inclined to play back at you given what you're representing.

I *heart* pacific.

I think this is a marginal hand for you to three bet with preflop, but if you had a good read more power to you. Something about this being pacific makes me like this play....
