Is this a spew, firstly calling . . I'm never too sure how to play these type of hands on a limp happy table. Betting the turn bad move?

Decisions would be easier with reads.

Preflop is fine - you have at least 4 people going to the flop, which makes it worth calling almost any pocket pair in hopes of a set.

Flop is fine too - you have a middle pair and are out of position, so I'd check-fold. Nobody betting tells me there is no flush or OESD out there, unless these guys are ultrapassive.

Turn also fine - nobody bet the queen, which tells me that your 8s are good. It is possible someone is chasing a draw, and they have the odds to call, but you are most likely ahead.

River I bet-call. You still have the best non-flush/non-straight hand (probably), and it is a value bet IMO. These guys seem passive, so you probably won't face a raise - and if you do someone is probably made, but they might just be raising their pair of 6s.

You win this maybe 30% of the time (number pulled from thin air, but approximately true), which means you don't fold, and a value bet is worthwhile. They might think you have the flush or straight too.

bet-call river is bad, you don't want to be putting 2 bets in on the end here with just a pair of 8's.

C/f river seems fine 3 way, no one's bluffing/vbetting worse into the field.

Thanks guys for the input. To be honest I felt as soon as the turn got called I'm behind, plenty of players seem to be passive and happy to wait for you to bet before showing any aggression. It's like limp-city.

Check-fold river is good. Check-call if you have a read that villain would have and bet a 6 or 4 there, since that's all you beat now. That was a very gross river card.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

If I were UTG+1 I would b/f sixes here all day long. Btn is obviously fishing for something (he'd almost certainly bet the flop with a FD) and for all Villian knows we could have been drawing with a five on the turn and gave up on the river. I think we're ahead more than 1/8 times here. I bet/fold the river and hope i get called by a six.

I'm playing at .10/.20 and I can guarantee you that at this level some villains *are* betting worse into the field (so we're back to the lack of reads). Bluffers aren't common but they're around. The situation may be as you say at .5/1.
Oh, no! Not another learning experience!

Not that I've noticed yet, but so far I'm only 1000 hands into .5-1.
