let's see here, there are 8 players max, and everyone gets 7 cards. there are only 52 decks in the cards....but 8x7 = 56!!!

i know it's very unlikely, but what happens if every single player decides to go to the river? there's not enough cards for everyone!

I've seen it happen in 7 card stud with "play money"

If that happens the 7th card went down face up in the center for a community card.

It's just so rare that everyone sees all streets. So it's pretty safe to allow 8 people.

Poker Stars allows 10 people.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

A community card is used on 7th street.

Sometimes there are so many stud players that a community card might be used on 6th street.

Hell, if there are enough players, community cards could be used for ALL streets, and each player only gets 2 down cards. The game could even be shortened so the first 3 cards are revealed at the same time. This description sounds like a somewhat familiar game, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
