This past Saturday, I played the $215 Weekly Stud8 on PokerStars. I had been running a BAP for quite a while and finally it sold out. The tournament was small, with only 24 entrants (top 3 paid, 1st got $2400), but almost all of them were pro or semi-pro online players. I got stuck right between PearlJammer and Mr_bigqueso.

Anyways, I felt pretty good pitting myself against some pretty big online names in my best game, and I played great I thought. I've got some hand histories posted in the rail thread on the site I got staked through, but I don't have the time to put any of them up right now. I will when I get back home to Georgia on Tuesday I imagine.

I ended up finishing 12th, so dead on halfway through the field. PearlJammer finished 10th, and I did outlast Mr Big Cheese. I was up to 2nd in chips at one point, but I started running cold about 20 minutes before the 2nd break, was shortstacked by the break, got the forced bring-in 4 hands in a row after the break and busted on a brutal hand.

I'll post the HH of my bust out hand later, but I had a pair of 8s, a low draw, a straight draw, a flush draw and a straight flush draw. My opponent had a pair of 2s and a better low draw. I missed every draw I had and he hit another 2 on 7th to bust me. It was brutal.

But like I said, I really thought I played as well as anyone there, unfortunately my luck ran out towards the 2nd break and I just couldn't catch the cards I needed when I needed them. Still, it was a lot of fun, the competition was extremely tough, and it was a nice confidence booster, proving that I could go into a high buy-in event, against some of the best players in online poker and hold my own.

Unfortunately I don't have the hand history for my favorite hand of the tournament, where I pulled off a nice bluff against PearlJammer. I'm fairly certain he started off with split queens, and I had some sort of low hand. On 4th I had a pair of 5s showing and just starting jamming the pot the rest of the way down, raising and reraising him until he folded on 6th. It was fun.

That's about all I've got for HH for this one though. I wish I'd thought to request my HH from PokerStars.

This was a very fun tournament. The people were all really cool, and most of them were very good players. I'd definitely like to have another go at it one day.
