villain was sort of a donk, initially i put him on 3 to a str8 or 3 high cards combo, I doubted he had a pair of J, but I still doubt whether I played the hand to aggressively when I did not improve on 5th

What other play do you have? Looks like a clear all-in reraise in a tournament. Unless he somehow has aces up or better, you're drawing quite live. If he only has J's or A's, you are in excellent shape to double up.

Why? Check-raising 6th might be good, but probably not better than betting.
