I'm not so sure about raising 3rd on a pair of half-dead Aces after so many limpers. I think I'd just see 4rth and take it from there.

Seriously this article should be called micro stud paradox. The problem is that its bingo at these stakes (usually like 60-70% to 4th), and always a few drawing all the way down), and my roll is pathetic ($150 or so) and i cant really afford to lose it. It gets a little better at .50/1.00 (30-50% to 4th) but i have to play over my roll.

Hand 1 is standard.

On Hand 2, Fnord is right about 3rd street. However, 5th street is an absolute must raise. The pot is pretty big and you've been given the chance to charge the field two bets to continue. Not raising here is a huge blunder.

Oftentimes Seat 7 is just betting a 4-flush, in which case you're doing him a big favor by just calling. Even if he has two pair, he isn't much of a favorite given that your outs are actually quite live.

Once the pot is big you MUST raise if you have a good chance to win it.

Knocking people with weak draws out is more important than not letting a better hand 3-bet you back for LoL 1 small bet.

Same reason why I would raise middle pair on the flop in a similar spot in an out-of-control pot.
