Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is BB with 7 , A .
UTG calls, MP calls, CO calls, Button raises, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP calls, CO calls.
Flop: (12 SB) A , 7 , 6 (6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP checks, CO checks, Button bets, SB folds, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP folds, CO folds, Button folds.
Turn: (8.50 BB) A (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls.
River: (10.50 BB) K (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds.
Final Pot: 11.50 BB
Is the check raise line on the flop better than just betting out? Big pot, possible flush draws, especially 6-way.
UTG is a passive calling station, so no point in trying to check raise the turn on river?

Indeed. Also, trying to check/raise the turn/river is just an easy way to get the hand checked through.

The check raise is perfect here. With the button raising preflop, you can expect him to bet and then you get to face 3 players with calling 2 bets. You want any gutshots, backdoor draws, pocket pairs, and 6s to fold. The pot is big already, and you want to protect your share with what is likely the best hand, but vulnerable to draws.
